On behalf of the O'Connors, our thoughts and prayers are with all the Baers, along with great memories of a great man and dad. I know he represented to me the fun, likeable and solid dad-presence that made you feel good to be around. Ted always had a good word to say and was a good model for us teenage boys at PPCC.

Fred's many friends on the commuter bus will miss his ready smile and quick jokes. If I happened to walk to his corner to wait for our driver Sally to turn the corner with the bus, we'd observe the high schoolers going to their bus who'd rather dress "cool" than stay warm on the snowy winter days. We knew we had never been so silly at their age!

Mary Jane and Baer family. We feel with you as you mourn and celebrate a fine man!
We picture Ted showing us the way as he glided around or plowed over life's obstacles...always with his impish smile of friendship and good humor!
He was a hero for so many...whether they knew him personally or not.
Ted Baer, may God rest your great soul!

Dear Jane and kids:
I'm so sorry to hear of Ted's passing; yet it would have to be aspectacular event!! With him smoking his pipe and wearing the Blue and Maze. It had to be a glorious ascension! Glad to have shared his induction into the Chicago Catholic League's Hall of Fame. He and YOU were always in ours. I can remember Samantha stories @ Palisades and how he beat me out of the Baer's Den and then how he overcharged me for weeks spent vacationing there! But lovely was the sight when I last saw him and you and the kids in Chicago and had a chance to hughim and tell him I wished I could be as good as HE. Love NHugs Bill Jennings and all the Jennings' We're still trying to keep up with ya! May God keep him and you in the palm of his loving hand.LJIOHF (Live Jesus in our hearts forever)That's a DeLaSalle thing Speaks for itself...Thanks Karen Rogers for alerting me to a solemn event in my life.

Mary Jane,
Theodore was the best of the best!
I'll always cherish all the fun times I've had with you both! I was so very sadly surprised to learn Thursday that he'd joined God's block! I remember our trip to Medjugorie in '90...it was our first time...you were the veteren! We were just following our leader!
How unbelievable that trip was and for him to be returning from that special place when he died...his spot was made ready, obviuosly Mary saw to that! Please take comfort in the Blue Cross and all that it means.
Love,
Big Blue Eyes

Dear Mary Jane and family,
I remember our Mom always talking very fondly about the Baer family and "Teddy", and how she had known the family since high school days in the 1920's. Later, through "couples" tennis and business with Rockwood, I got to know and respect Ted. You and your family have much to be proud of in looking back on his full and always honorable life.

Dear Mary Jane & Family; The news of Ted's death brought back many memories of Ted during our years as classmates at Fenwick. While Ted excelled as an outstanding athlete on both the football & basketball teams his true mark was the character traits he exhibited throught his life. He was a leader in all aspects. I valued his friendship in those days and even though I had no contact with him over the years except at reunions I always felt thankful for his friendship during H.S. May he rest in peace and may your sorrow ease when you remember all the goods times you had with Ted. Sincerely, Joe Gubbins

Dear Mary Jane and Family,
We were tremendously saddened at passing of Fred. He and I met each other on the first day of football camp at Michigan in 1951 and formed a close lasting friendship and bond that continued throughout the years.
Fred was a tough-as-nails football
player but was quiet and reserved in his personal life.
Fred was a true "Gentleman" and we will miss him greatly.
Sincerely, Ed and Helen Hickey

Dear Family,
Ted will forever remain in my memory as a kind and generous, gentle man. I will remember him in his sail boat on Lake Michigan sailing into a beautiful sunset. I am a lucky woman to have met such a wonderful person and to have the Baer family to call my friends.

Teddy was - and always will be - my "glamorous" older cousin. When I was a little girl, I was in such awe of him, and as I got older, I wanted to find a guy just like him to marry.
I remember my great-grandmother's parties in her big house on 6th Ave. in La Grange. Teddy never ignored his younger cousins; he played hide-and-seek with us and found all our hiding places.
As I got older, I appreciated Ted's goodness and kindness. He was a great guy in every way - handsome, funny, smart, and nice - and a great, great athlete! What an awesome cousin to have.
Teddy, right at this moment, you're probably cracking jokes with everyone in heaven. Say "hi" to Harry, Jean, Nana, and all the other relatives I miss. John and I will miss you.
Fondly,
Nancy Mabin Chambers Kenney

Our Prayers and thoughts are with Mary Jane and all of the Baer family. Fred Baer was one of the true nice guys who has graced those who knew him during his life. Whether walking down the street in Chicago or prowling the beach and tennis courts at Palisades Park Michigan with his sidekick Jack Flynn, Ted Baer always had a smile for you, a good story and a little good humored jab for you based on the topic at hand.
I remember many a evening on the Flynn porch at Palisades during the summer months when TB would dispense wisdom and guidance to the youngsters on a variety of subjects but mostly sports and cute girls.
I know he will be smiling down on his wife and family and keeping watch over you from his heavenly porch along with Jack and Nancy Flynn and his other buddies from a life well lived. Ted, you will be missed but I am very glad to have known you.
