George Emmett Phoenix Jr.

George Emmett Phoenix, Jr., age 87, a long-time resident of the North Shore, died Tuesday, July 13, 2021. George was born in Chicago on September 6, 1933, to George and Florence (nee Childers) Phoenix. He attended Georgetown University and University of Chicago Law School, and was a long time member of The Chicago Board of Trade.

Beloved husband of Margot; loving father of the late Adrienne (Brian) Gager (1997), George Emmett (Molly) Phoenix, III of Vernon Hills, Hilary (Nick) Alex of Deerfield, Martha (Phil) Berry of Bingham Farms, MI, and stepson Alex (Charlotte) Langerman MD of Nashville, TN. Adored grandfather of Caitlin (Andrew) Gager Goodson, Mac, Henry, Elizabeth, and Sydney Gager, Sophia and Jackson Phoenix, Grace and Sam Alex, and Michael and Nicholas Berry; step grandfather of Montgomery and Veronica Langerman; great grandfather of Adrienne Goodson. Brother of the late Patricia Harrington (2019) and the late Rosemary Campbell (1997).

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 24 at 9am until time of funeral mass at 10am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 770 Deerfield Road, Highland Park, IL 60035. Interment at All Saints Cemetery.
