Geraldine O'Donnell Obituary

Geraldine O'Donnell (nee Stenson) left this world as she lived, quietly with dignity and surrounded by her loved ones. She spent many happy days close to her family, sitting in her favorite chair, and was always in good company because the world came to her. From the wave at the window, the smile at the door, the hug in the hallway she always made you feel at home. She also taught her children the most important lesson "The best things in life aren't things". Geraldine will be sorely missed by her children Anne (Barry) Nelson, the late Michael (Pam) O'Donnell, Marian O'Donnell, Patricia O'Donnell, Jeannette O'Donnell (Joel Rothstein), Joseph (Mary Kay) O'Donnell, James (Bridget) O'Donnell, John (Sharon) O'Donnell, and Catherine (Matt) Conjar and her devoted sister, Marian Beach. Geraldine left a legacy of love, compassion and a treasure trove of unintentionally hilarious stories for her twenty five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and innumerable nieces, nephews and friends whose lives she touched. Geraldine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond, her son Michael, her parents Martin and Anna Stenson, her sister Jeannette McMahon, and her brother Leonard Stenson. If you'd like to honor Geraldine's memory, a cause dear to her heart was The Mercy Home for Boys & Girls Chicago https://donate.mercyhome.org.
