I didn't know Gino passed. Since moving to Iowa I lost track of folks...I played trumpet in the middle band, my freshman and sophomore year there. Gino was tough but fair and a good teacher as well. Have fun memories of marching band and of his assistant. Dominic Piane.

Late, and didn't know Mr. Pacetti had passed. I was a drummer in the Mendel Band. Mr. Pacettii had a great percussion unit in that Band. Just to name a few, John Tribbia, John Pannazo, and Art Baldachie. I was never as good as they were but when my family moved from the South Side to Oak Lawn Mr Pacetti let me come to his house and drove me down to Mendel while picking up band members along the way. Spent a lot of time with him as my teacher. He was strict but a good teacher.

I was in the band at Conrady Jr. High in 1984-1986 and I have fond memories of Mr. Pacetti. I remember going in with my dad the 1st day to try instruments and even though I was better at the clarinet I really wanted to play the coronet. Despite barely being able to make a sound on it at the time Mr. Pacetti still encouraged me to go with what I wanted to try. I still have that coronet and this time of year always brings back memories of marching around Hill Creek Shopping Center with Mr. Pacetti, Mr. Poltry and the band playing Christmas carols. Deepest sympathies on your loss & hopefully comfort knowing he left a deep impression on kids for decades that will carry on.

My condolences to all of Gino's children. What a great guy - I was organist at St. Germaine from 1979 until 1983, and it was a pleasure working under his direction. I'll always remember him playing the flute along with the organ! May he and his wife Pat, and all the deceased choir members of St. Germaine parish rest in peace.

As a student and band member at Mendel, I was inspired by the warmth, energy and discipline of Mr. Pacetti. Gino guided me in my exploration of performing in a band and orchestra. Even though I now realize I would have profited more by joining the science club. Jerry Sadowski, class of 68.
