Dawn,

As you know I started working at EF Hutton in 1976 and quickly was attracted to working with John at The Consulting Services Division. He was a wonderful man and became a mentor to me. He was the epitome of integrity. His word was his bond and he was always a gentleman. In addition, he was a true leader. he was not afraid to tell it the way it is. So unlike the so called senior management of today. I learned so much from him and he will always be in my thoughts. His legacy will live on through our memories of him as well as the ongoing evolvement of the industry that he created. My prayers are with you and your family.

Dawn and family, I had the honor of working, starting in 1987, in the business he helped create and so ably lead in Wilmington. His vision and insights and, of course, experience were a wonder to me. I know my career rides on groundwork John and a few others laid and for that I am very grateful. I will always remember his laugh, his passion and, when seeing him for the last time, his great big smile and "Hi, David!" as he came back to see us after he had retired. I miss seeing that smile and hope your happy memories of him bode you well in this sad time.
