Howard E. Kubycheck, 76, of Berkeley. Beloved husband of the late Elinor, nee Russell; fond father of Dr. Russell Martin (Lynn); grandfather of Russell J. (Christina), Christopher (Stacie), Jon, Ellyn, Lisa and Laura; great-grandfather of Andrew, Nicholas, Kyle and Kory; brother of Irene (Edward) Collins; also husband of the late Frances Valent; stepfather of Sue Nowiszewski; step-grandfather of Edmund. Served in the Army during WW II with The 13th Airborne Division Glider Infantry. Received Bronze Star. Forty year member and Past Commander of Berkeley Post #1016, A.L. Past Commander of the Fifth District. Volunteer at The V.A. Hospital for many years. Visitation at The Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 S. Spring Rd., Elmhurst, from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Prayers Monday, May 7, 9:15 a.m. to St. Domitilla Church, Mass 10 a.m. Entombment St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be appreciated for the charity of your choice.
