To the entire Minich Family; John, you and Sharon were a great comfort to us during our time of need...twice. Your compassion and caring have never been forgotten! I hope that in some way, God will make this terrible journey a bit easier, because of all you have done for others in their time of need. Take comfort in knowing that Ian's work on this earth was done and God called him home. Ian is now preparing the way for all those that love him to one day join him in god's loving arms! You have our deepest sympathies!

I am sorry for the loss of a friend, and mentor. I remember spending every summer looking up to Ian. Ian was the big brother I never had, and someone I tried to emulate while attending Queen of the Universe. I will never forget alley-way basketball, baseball games in the parking lot, and hikes in Lemont when visiting his relatives. I will miss him greatly and regret that I haven't had the chance to see him since my move from Chicago. I will keep the family in my prayers. I miss having the best neighbors I've ever had. I would not be where I'm at today without all my experiences from the past. Thank you Ian.

Dear John, Sharon and Family,
We were so saddened to hear about the loss of your Beloved Son, Ian. Although we did not know him, as parents ourselves, we can only pray that you find the strength and courage to deal with this tragedy. Although no words can really help to ease your loss, please know that you are very close in thought and prayer.
"MISSING YOU"
No words written can ever say
How much you'll miss him every day
As time goes by, your loneliness grows
How much you'll miss him, nobody knows
You'll think of him in silence
You'll often speak his name
But you'll always have your memories
And a picture in a frame
No one knows your sorrow
No one sees you weep
But the special love you have for him
Is in your heart and yours to keep
Heartaches in this world are many
But sadly, yours is worse than any
Your heart still aches as you whisper low
We need you and we miss you so
You never will stop loving him
His free spirit ... or his will
For deep inside your heart of hearts
He is with you still
With heartfelt sympathies, our thoughts and prayers will be with your family during this extremely difficult time.
