I'm a co-worker and friend of Liz and I just wanted to send my condoloences to you and your family during this time. I had never met Casey personally, but through Liz I feel like I've known him all along. My prayers are with you and your entire family but we all know that he's on the best "baseball" team anyone could be a part of and now he will "always" be a winner.

I went to school with Casey through most of my life. We went to grade school, middle school, and high school together. He was always a great guy to know and be around, I will never forget that. My heart goes out to his family during these hard times, Casey will definitely be missed. I will always remember the great times we had and how he always excelled at everything he did. Casey was a good friend and I will miss him deeply. As he has been in the past, Casey will always be in my prayers.

To Casey's Family and Friends,

Although I never knew Casey personally, my sister, Betsy Hartanov, and my godson Justin Hartanov, have kept me informed on Casey's uphill struggle against his battle with cancer for the past two years. I am an oncology nurse who has always been interested in how my nephew's good friend was doing. I was the first person that Betsy and Justin reached out to when they heard the news about Casey's diagnosis. During good times and bad, Casey was always in my thoughts and prayers, as I continued to monitor his condition.

Over the weekend, I was informed that Casey's courageous battle was over, and that Justin was among the last few personal contacts that Casey had experienced. Please know that Casey's courageous battle was not in vein and that he is in a special place watching over those who deeply cared for him. My sincerest sympathies are extended to you. This Friday evening

at our American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event in Mahwah, New Jersey, I will light a Luminaria candle in memory of J. Casey Pohl.

Mr. and Mrs. Pohl and family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Casey was a person that always made people feel good on and off the field. Playing baseball with him only brought out half the pleasure of actually hanging out with him. Casey was a great person and it is sad to see him go but it is also good to know that he will not be forgotten.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I work with Liz Pohl and have followed Casey's illness for the last couple of years. I was touched by Liz's stories about him.

Casey was such an important person in Liz's life and now he will be her guardian angel. God Bless you all.

I write this with such a heavy heart. We can never know the pain and grief that your family is going through. We know that there is nothing we can do to ease your hurt but we hope in some small way it will help you to know that our family was honored to have known Casey. Although Casey takes a small part of each of our hearts with him he also leaves a small part of himself within each of us. Casey will always be loved and remembered and my family will be forever grateful for this privlege. Your family is in our thoughts and in our prayers and though I write this with many tears it is also written with much love.
