It is truly a sad day with the passing of Dr. James Bolan. He was truly the "doctor's doctor" providing knowledge, friendship and leadership to those that he touched in his practice. I feel blessed that I was able to learn so much from him. He was a true mentor to me. The world has lost a true gentleman with his passing. His passion and dedication to his career and family were obvious to all who knew him.

Some of my favorite memories with Dr. Bolan were around your kitchen table. I loved hearing his stories of Vietnam; loved hearing his stories of growing up in Rogers Park and attending medical school with Dr. Considine; and loved talking about Irish music with him and the significance of the lyrics.
The last time I saw him, he had ushered the Mass I attended after I had spent the earlier hours as a NODA volunteer. I can still him walking out of the Church to his car.
I will see you at Mass tomorrow. I feel blessed to have shared a small bit of his life with him.
I love you all. I'm sorry for your great loss.
Love, Eileen
