James Michael "Jimmy" Keaty, Evanston Fire Department, retired The most spectacular and adored husband of Gay nee Petruschadt Amazing father of Patrick (Char) Keaty, Nancy (Andrew) Hurst, Ryan "Ryman" Mortlock, Jamie Mortlock, and Michael Guzman (Jena) Treasured son of Nancy nee DiCanio and the late Willam Keaty, Sr. Cherished Papa of Katie, Aidan, Jimmy and Lily. Irreplaceable brother of Billy "Hook", Mary Jo, Vito (Linda), and Bobby (Wanda) Keaty, Anna Marie (Bob)Falcone and Anthony Keaty Favorite Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Unforgetable brother to his fellow firefighters. Visitation from 3:00-9:00PM Tuesday, July 30 and Wednesday July 31, 2013 at Russo's Hillside Chapels 4500 Roosevelt Rd. Hillside, Il 60162 (between Mannheim and Wolf Rds.) Friends are asked to meet Thursday at Holy Rosary Church 612 N. Western Ave. Chicago, IL. for a visitation from 10:00-11:00AM Mass will begin at 11:00AM. Interment will be in Mt Carmel Cemetery In lieu of flowers contributions to The Marty Leoni Memorial Fund 909 Lake St. Evanston, IL 60201 would make Jimmy happy. Jim, I never imagined that you would not be around. I regret not knowing that you were ill, and keeping in touch. What everyone is saying is true, You were thoughtful and helpful to every one. I'll never forget the day I met you on Chicago Ave bus, coming home from Cathedral High School. You saved me from getting beat up by those girls from the reform school. I can't remember the name of the school but they tried to keep them off the regular CTA.

Jim came to my home several times when my father required fire department and/or paramedic assistance. He gave my father the best care out there, and asked about him several times later on.

Jimmy was the most selfless man I knew. He would do anything for anyone. He called me a few months back to see if Alexis was OK. She called him almost daily to check on him and he was worried about HER. He put everyone else first. He will be missed by so many. He truly was the best of the best!!! Love you Jimmy. xoxo
