James A. Parmakis, age 60. Loving father of Peter, Michael and Jacklyn Parmakis. Devoted son of Sophy (the late Angelo Parmakis and the late Gus Bairaktaris). Dear brother of Sam (Vasiliki) Parmakis and Theodora (Jim) Nicolas. Fond uncle of Sofia, Alexandra, Andrew, Steven, Paul, Jillian and Kimberly. James was a retired machinist for City of Chicago. Visitation Monday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home 1104 Waukegan Rd., Glenview. Family and friends will meet Tuesday morning at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church 7373 N. Caldwell Ave., Niles, IL for funeral service at 10:30am. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements by ADINAMIS CORLISS BALODIMAS FUNERAL DIRECTORS, LTD. (847)901-4012.

Michael and Peter,
I knew your dad the past eleven years through your maternal aunts. I was struck by how kind, welcoming and loving your father was. My Uncle Harvey and his daughters loved him and respected him. My mom, Corrine, (Harvey's sister) not only felt the same way but have been touched by both of you. You are a living tribute to your Dad's memory! I know he was proud of both of you and your accomplishments. Keep the good going forward and I know your dad is going to remain with you for eternity.

Have known Sam & Jim since we were teenagers. Closer with Sam in age but knew Jim as well. A more peaceful person would be most difficult to find. I hope that peace continues. R.I.P. Jim.
