Jane B. Silverman

Jane B. Silverman, 90, of Evanston, Illinois, formerly of DeKalb, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at The Mather Retirement home in Evanston. She was born September 30, 1931, in Evanston, Illinois, the daughter of Francis and Margaret (Kennedy) Budinger. Jane married Donald G. Silverman on September 4, 1954, at Faith, Hope, and Charity Catholic Church in Winnetka, Illinois. Jane was a graduate of Saint Clare Academy in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin, in which she was class president. She attended Marquette and Northwestern Universities and graduated from Evanston Hospital Nursing program. While at Northwestern, she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. In her later years, she was employed by the Mather Gardens in Evanston. She enjoyed her family, artwork, music and old classic movies. She is survived by her daughters, Katie Silverman, Liz (Dan) Silverman-Zurek, Mary (Paul) Johnson and Ann (Mike) Anastasio; grandchildren, Morgan (Nick) Thompson, Leigha (Cole) Griswold, Jacob (Ruthie) Johnson, Donald (Alyssa) Zurek, and Alexa Anastasio; great grandchildren, EV Thompson, Brooks Thompson, Silas Griswold, Kate Johnson, and Jasper Griswold. Jane was the second oldest of 9 children. She is survived by sister, Ann (the late Don) Wagener, brother Tom (Mariam) Budinger, sister Sheila (John) Pigott, sister Gina (Terry) Demos, brothers Chuck (Agnes) Budinger and John (Becky) Budinger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, her son, John Francis Silverman, her grandchild, Joseph Paul Johnson, sisters Margie (Tom) O'Connor, Suzie (Phil) Rubenstein, and her parents. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 1012 Lake Street, Evanston, Illinois. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in DeKalb.
