Jason Charles Lewis Cox, 26, died Tuesday November 29, 2022 at his home in Chicago, Illinois. Jason was born December 11, 1995 in Wilmington, North Carolina to parents Mark Lewis Cox and Joy Charlene Holtz. He was the younger brother of Justin Leo Cox and the older brother of Mary Jessica Cox. A man of many talents, Jason worked as an assistant chef in several prominent Chicago restaurants. Recently, he switched careers to become a graphic designer and he quickly earned the accolades of new clients for his artistry. At the time of his death, he was taking steps toward owning a business in this field. In Jason's free time, he was a voracious reader. His favorite books included the Harry Potter series and anything written by Steven King. He also loved spending time with his cat, Kitty, who he adored. Jason was preceded in death by his paternal great grandparents, Rita Jean and Calvin Leo Bainter; his maternal grandparents, Charles Gordon and Pearl Delcia (Miller) Holtz; his paternal grandfather, Ralph Lewis Cox; his paternal uncle, Micheal Lee Cox; and sister, Michelle Elise Cox. He is survived by his parents, Mark Lewis Cox and Joy Charlene Holtz; his siblings Justin Leo Cox and Mary Jessica Cox; his maternal grandmother, Mary Frances Cox; his paternal aunts, Lynn Marie Cox and Marcy Jean Jones; his maternal aunts, Terry June Dailey and Tina Lynn Holtz; two nephews, Trae Maxwell Cox and Ryker Dylan Cox and his niece, Saige Gabrielle Cox. Jason also had numerous beloved cousins. Jason will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown, Illinois. A private, family only service will be held on December 11th, 2022, Jason's 27th birthday. The family wishes to thank everyone for the well wishes and the outpouring of love and support.
