Jerry Hayden Obituary

Jerry L. Hayden, 87, of Barrington Hills and Scottsdale, passed away peacefully in his sleep in Scottsdale on December 7 2020.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn Keller Hayden. Also surviving are sons, Randall and Doug (Heather) and grandson, Ryker, and three step-granddaughters, Taylor, Madison and Amanda.  He was a graduate of Woodruff High School in Peoria, Illinois and an Army veteran, serving in Korea 1953-55.   He earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from Bradley University and an MBA from Northwestern University.  For 35 years he was president of Peacock Engineering Company in Itasca, Illinois selling packaging services first to Caterpillar for their farm equipment then later for food products of Oscar Mayer, Gerber, etc.  He founded the Itasca Industrial Council and served on various business and political boards, such as the Illinois Manufacturing Association and The Club for Growth.  A service or memorial is not planned due to COVID-19.  The family suggests any contributions may be made to The Cancer Research Institute or Parkinson's Foundation.
