Dear Pauline and Family. I have trouble finding words to express how sorry I am to hear of your loss. I will echo the words of others on what a great mentor Jerry was for me when I came in as a "wet behind the ears" college grad many years ago. But even more than his great mentoring skills, I feel Jerry set a standard as a "boss" that no one else I worked for ever really managed, and helped me to understand what I wanted to do when it became my time to supervise others. I treasure those memories, and send my heartfelt sympathy.

Dearest Pauline & "kids", So very sorry for your loss and the loss of all those that knew your wonderful husband and father. He was truly one of the "good guys" and one of the best friends one could have. I wish him peace and each of you comfort. We were all so lucky to have had him in out lives. Love, Judy

Dear Family; I worked with Jerry Rasmussen at Union Carbide/Viskase for over 20years. When I first joined or was transferred to Chicago plant from another Division in Union Carbide, he was my teacher, co-worker, and a key part of the R&D Technology Group. Together we gained tremendous respect for each other over the years. He was always ready to listen to an idea and help you frame it to something that 'just might work in actual production'. His ability to translate textbook/theory to the workplace was recognized by all. He would travel to all locations, and was respected as an expert, as many would comment; "Jerry said....". Following his steps now, Michael has continued his Dad's legacy at Union Carbide/Viskase with technical excellence. Our condolences to the family during this time.

Dear Pauline, Mike, and the rest of the family, I was so saddened by the news today. My thoughts and prayers are with you all today. So many memories. Around here he was a scientist, an inventor, a leader, my mentor, my teammate and friend. Even here today, as I look around this plant far from home, I see so many things that Jerry touched and made better. So I hope you all can take a little comfort in knowing how highly regarded and well respected he was at work as he was at home. He was one of the good ones that we'll never forget. So long Jerry and thanks for everything.

Marilyn and your wonderful family. I've only met Dad/Jerry a few times but I know he was a blessed man with his wonderful wife and his beautiful kids. Just know he is in a good place, and will no longer have pain. He's had a full life of children and grandchildren. Stay close as the family you are and time will help heal your sadness. Love, Jamee and Ken
