Joan M. Berg (nee Gladstone), age 80, of Naperville, formerly of Elmhurst, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016. She was born in Oak Park, IL on August 15, 1935. Beloved wife and best friend to the late James Berg, Sr., daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (nee Breen) Gladstone. Caring mother of James Jr., Daniel (Joann), the late Michael (Kelly), John and Peter Berg. Loving grandmother of Daniel Jr. (Ashley), Caitlyn, Joey, the late Patrick, and Katie Berg. Loving sister of Mary Lou McCabe, the late Joe, Ginna Gibson, Marge Eder, and Jack. Sister-in-law of Justin Gibson. Aunt of 42 nieces and nephews. Friend of Harvey and Frank Cummings and many others. A special thank you to Dr. Joseph Kash and all the nurses at the Edward Cancer Center. Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, May 13, 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Rd, Naperville. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1 N. LaSalle St., Suite 1200, Chicago, IL 60602-3902, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, 120 Wall Street, 29th Floor, New York, NY 10005 or to the Edward Cancer Center.
