JOAN WEINSTEIN Obituary

Joan Weinstein, nee Korp, a Chicago fashion icon known throughout the world fashion industry, died on November 16, 2009. Mrs. Weinstein was married to Jerry Weinstein who preceded her in death on October 30, 1972. They started and owned Ultimo, the high-end clothing store, on Oak Street. Loving sister of Donald Korp; caring aunt of Don Korp (Aundrea), Michael Korp (Petia), Jennifer Parsa, Anne Korp, Gianna Rosenthal; cherished step-mother of Michael Weinstein, Lynne Reisner (Michael), Andrew Weinstein (Kate); proud great aunt and step grandmother of Emma, Nicole, Logan, Jeraco, Gionna, Raith, Jordan, Julie, Emily, Ben, Cooper, and Henry. Mrs. Weinstein is survived by many dear friends and relatives. Memorial service Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at 11 a.m., at Fourth Presbyterian Church, 126 East Chestnut Street, Chicago, Illinois. Entombment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Integrative Medicine Initiative, Children's Memorial Hospital, 2300 Children's Plaza, Box 73, Chicago, Illinois 60614, Attention:David Steinhorn.
