JOANN RAE McLELLAN

JoAnn Rae McLellan, nee Beutjer, 79, long-time resident of Wheaton, IL, beloved wife for 56 years of William; dear mother of Susan, Scott (Christine), and Mark (Sharon); proud grandmother of Sean, Bridget, Ian and Ethan; daughter of the late Herbert and the late Ruth, nee Nachtigall, Beutjer; niece of Gladys (Bill) Servatius; sister of Lynn (Ron) Altergott, the late Harold Beutjer, and the late William Beutjer; and sister-in-law of Irene (Dwayne) Beutjer- Gilliam, and Denise Beutjer. Born March 8, 1930, in Elmhurst, IL, she died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 in Wheaton. JoAnn graduated from Wheaton Community High School in 1948. Mrs. McLellan worked several jobs as a bookkeeper, retiring in 2000 from the City of Wheaton after nearly 20 years. She and Bill had an antique business called 'Treasured Memories' at several locations in recent years. She was a member of the Morton Arboretum, and was previously a member of Wheaton Evangelical Free Church for many years. She loved gardens, flowers, antiques, garage sales, collectibles and all things patriotic. She was an avid Chicago sports fan. She loved to travel to historic locations and to spend time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Visitation, Friday, Oct. 30, 3 to 9 p.m., Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Funeral Saturday, Oct. 31, 10 a.m. at Wheaton Evangelical Free Church, 520 E. Roosevelt Rd., in Wheaton. Interment, Wheaton Cemetery.
