I was first introduced to Jack by a mutual friend, Michael Allen about 1970. Jack was a snapper with a top hat, a cane and a sharp wit. We often shot pool together (he was pretty good) and generally harassed the hoi-poloi. He also knew how to cook. He will be missed.

I dated and was very fond of Jack when we were in High School. He went to Latin and I went to Sacred Heart. Our fathers were in the restaurant business. We had a lot in common. I left Chicago to pursue a career as a flight attendant. He was a true gentleman and will be remembered by me as a real bon vivant. Have a cup of turtle soup my friend and fly with the angels.

Lots of fond and fun memories, growing up in the same Lincoln Park apt. building with Jack. Our friendship lasted a lifetime.

Michael and I are terribly distressed and saddened to learn of the death of our dear friend Jack Binyon. Michael and Jack became friends in kindergarten in Chicago. We treasure and honor the beautiful memory of Jack who always welcomed us when we arrived in any of his restaurants. Jack's extraordinary home on Lake Shore Drive was filled with memories of his parents. During our last conversation a few years ago, Jack talked about his beautiful children Sara and Duffy. We will always cherish our memories with Jack.
