What an immeasurable loss for John’s family and friends. John’s presence made everything and everybody a little brighter and just more darn FUN. He was a delightful soul and a highly valued friend. Thank you John, for all the joy you brought this world, for your unfailing wit and charm, and for the light you reflected all around—you are sorely missed.

John, may you rest in peace! High School would not have been as fun without you! What a funny guy! I pray for your family and friends. Your children have a wonderful foundation that was established because of you. May everyone touched by John continue to hold all that is near and dear to your heart. Farewell, my dear friend.

John was the definition of joie de vivre. Thank you for living, John, and brightening my life, and my family's life, with your irrepressible humor and friendship.

John's death makes you believe there's a heaven. John was so incredibly human, with all the fantastic qualities and the fun, interesting, fascinating quirks and edges that makes one worth knowing, and worth caring about. He was a wonderful friend, and it is impossible to believe that we won't someday meet again. There was simply too much there to be extinquished.

My heartfelt condolences to all John's Children, Family and Friends.
For me it has been a great priviledge to have know John and I am so honor to have spent a little time as his friend; because, he made me feel like a friend as he would always made everybody feel so special and unique. I will miss him forever; but I will listen to his voice calling me "Hola Querida" in his very witty sense of humor. He will always be in my heart. Thank you for all the great memories I will cherish them forever.

Even though we have only gotten to see John occasionally over the last several years just knowing he is gone creates a tremendous sense of loss. His friends and family are in our thoughts.

My partner Lynn and I had the privilege of meeting John via his dear friend Mary Kay at a party in the suburbs a number of years ago. From the moment I met him, I was so taken with his warm infectious smile and laughter, and his magnetic charisma. Very few people have ever made me laugh as hard as John did and I became one of those people who always asked, when invited to a party that Mary Kay was attending, "is John coming too?" He was an amazing man, a wonderful father - and a great bon vivant.
Our deepest heartfelt sympathies to John's family and friends.

My thought and prayers are extended to John's children, Meg and Michael, the Cahill family and all the hundreds of friends who loved John.
I was lucky enough to have met John at E.I.U. Some of the most memorable, fun times were spent with John and our mutual friends. We continued our laughter after college into the great city of Chicago. I look back on those times and am so appreciative for all the laughs, smiles and even tears.
He was with out a doubt the funniest man I have ever known. He was well loved and he will be missed deeply.
I know he is at peace in heaven with God. I can only imagine how happy he was to see his beautiful Mother again.

It' only been a week since the porch, honey. I can't believe you've gone. John, you could make me laugh like no one else... and then you were always the one left laughing the loudest. Whenever we were all together I knew it was going to be pure FUN. Those "creative black tie" getups & the way you could tear up a dancefloor, swinging around a terrified looking random partner. To use your word... HILARIOUS. And you DID NOT cook all that food! I know you had it brought in! ADMIT IT!
I'm going to miss all the gossip, the great big hugs, the bike, the pep talks, the complaining, the stories about parenting, and mostly the way your eyes would water up when we were laughing our heads off... the world is a little dimmer without you, my friend. I'm going to miss you so much.

We have lost a colleague, friend, and father to 3 wonderful children. John could light up a room with his presence. He was thoughtful, gracious, and caring. His many wonderful qualities will long be remembered. His presence will always be felt at Parker and in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. When the sun shines, I know it will be John looking down and blessing us with his spirit.

John's spirit and humor will always be remembered. He created so many hilarious memories for me and many friends a EIU. Even though many years have passed since that time we all remember him as one who always brought joy, wit and laughter into every room he entered. I am very thankful to have known John and I will always remember his gift of bringing belly-aching humor to my college life.

Those who knew John knew that behind all of the bradvado, the laughs and the many acts of kindness, was an unpretentious and selfless soul who, like all of us, simply wanted to love and be loved. Soar with the Angels, my friend.

John was a wonderful and kind soul. I have thought of him often and with great love over many years. His spirit and light brought delight to life and fun to any place he chose to be. He is quite simply unforgetable.
My heart goes out to all those who have been close to him because of the void he leaves.

Having met John only recently and feeling awed by his warmth and energy, I feel I can safely say that those who had the privilege to call him a friend experienced a true gift of an individual.
My deepest sympathy goes to John's children, his family, his loved ones, his family, and to everyone else he has touched.
I hope he has found peace.

John will be greatly missed by all of us. He was generous, funny, loving, warm and kind. He taught our daughter in 4th grade and we were lucky enough to have him as a friend for the past 9 years.
At the end of June we were invited to a mutual friends house for dinner and we all had the most fabulous time, as could always be expected while in John's company. He spoke of his children and how proud he was of all three of them. We had such a happy evening together.
We would like to give our most heartfelt condolences to John's family. He was a truly incredible man who will always be remembered for his warmth and wit.
