Kaech Sr., Army Veteran of WW II beloved husband of the late Lorraine, nee O'Donnell; loving father of John (Linda), Linda (Edward) Finger, James (Donna) and Joseph (Maureen); dear grandfather of Jennifer (Ed) McKenna, Christine, Kathleen, Joseph (Cecilia) Finger, preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter Lisa Ticer (Carl), James Finger, Jesse (Jessica), Cindy, Jason, Tim, Amanda, Kevin, Kyle, Scott, Loren, William and Daniel; great-grandfather of Justin, Ryan, Justin, Tatum and Alexis; fond brother of preceded in death by Albertina, Ida, Lina, Frida, Albert and James. Funeral Tuesday, 10:15 a.m. from Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5800 W. 63rd St. to St. Patricia Church, Hickory Hills. Mass 11 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Visitation Monday, 2 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The American Cancer Society or The Make A Wish Foundation would be appreciated. Info 773-284-7201.

I moved in two doors away from John in 1987. He was always willing to lend a hand. He was always the first to snowblow the entire block in the winter. He was just an all around good person and neighbor. He will always be remembered by us.

There was an error made by the Funeral Home in the obituary. The date and time information for the wake and mass was omitted. The wake will be held Monday (11/22/04) from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Blake-Lamb. The funeral mass will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday (11/23/04) at St. Patricia's Church, Hickory Hills.
