Mario and Sarah, We are terribly sorry for your great loss. I know that you and we feel that we would hate to see such a tragedy visit our own dear kids. Who by now are no longer kids, but who will always remain kids to us.

To the Mansueto family and West Hills family:
My condolences go out to each of you. John will be sorely missed. He was such a joy and pleasure to work with. Even though he had a business to run, he would take time out of his hectic schedule to talk to me and share his insights of the business and I learned so much from him. He would always answer my questions patiently and offer his help and services anytime. I will miss that of John.
Jade and I will keep John and you in our prayers.

I met John some ten years ago - he was a client starting a new business and I was a young attorney. He was as decent and fair a person as one could ever ask for in a client. John always did the right thing. He was a kind, warm, trustworthy, generous and friendly man. The world is a better place because of his having been here. I will always remember him.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."

Dear Fritha,
I was John's first boss and he was my first hire at Data Resources in 1983. I had met with many potential employees before I had met John. Once I met him I knew he was the one. His deliberate words and relaxed manner won me over! He was eager to learn and willing to work until the job was done. We spent many hours discussing and researching the markets and how to make them work for us. He could never say a mean word and only offer suggestions to make things work better. All I could do was listen. We will all miss him for his subtle sense of humor and that fantastic grin. Whenever I saw that grin I knew something was up. My heart goes out to you and your family because with a heart as big as his it's hard believe there could be a better husband and father.
He will always be remembered by his colleagues at the old DRI in Chicago.
There is no way they couldn't!

Dear Fritha, Ethan & Leona:
I met John just about 10 years ago. I watched how hard he worked to build his firm over this time. He did such a wonderful job.
John was one of the kindest and nicest people I knew. I said to him many times that if he had one fault as a manager, it was that he was sometimes too kind to brokers, employees, clients, professionals etc. I enjoyed so many conversations and meals with him - he would even eat sushi with me. We shared our experiences about money management and the markets on usually a weekly basis, if not daily. We were each other's advisor. He was a wonderful friend. He was in my prayers the past 9 months. I will miss him dearly.
May God Bless you.
Love
