John E. Milton

1928 - 2021

John E. Milton, 93, of Northbrook, IL, formerly of Glenview, IL passed away November 24, 2021. He was the beloved husband for 68 years of Eleanor "Elly" Milton nee Larson; loving father of Jean (Tom) Ellis of Westford, MA, Paul (Beth) Milton of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Carol (Larry) Zmuda of Great Falls, VA; cherished grandfather of Thomas, David and Elizabeth Ellis, Anna Milton, John (Anna), Rachel and Sam Zmuda; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Mr. Milton was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Elna Milton and his siblings, Arthur, Kenneth and Dorothy Milton and Eunice O'Neill.

John was a graduate of Augustana College and Northwestern University, a veteran of the United States Navy, and lifelong health care executive. He was active at his local church and Rotary International.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 11 am at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1133 Pfingsten Road, Northbrook, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Arthur Anderson Milton Memorial Scholarship Fund (John's father), Augustana College, 639 38th St., Rock Island, IL 61201.
