Dear Mrs. Quealy and Family,
Having just returned from funeral services for Grandpa Q, I can say that he truly left a legacy that would make anyone proud. It was so touching to hear his children and grandchildren reminisce about their experiences with him, leaving us all careening between laughter and heartfelt sorrow. The music that Bridgette provided was not only beautiful, it was also courageous. And the story that Dan told about his last moments with his father, leading up to that beautiful Irish song, stays with me to this very moment...
We were all blessed to know Mr. Quealy, and I can say for sure after the celebration of his life today that he was a very rich man, indeed.

With love from Bruce and Karen Swiecicki and Family

Jean and family:
We have been so fortunate to say we knew John. It's funny how God brings folks together in a lifetime. We would never had known this wonderful, loving man if our son Eric hadn't married Shayne. What a beautiful family man John was. What a great bunch of kids John and Jean raised.
Our deepest condolences go out to your entire family.

Dear Nancy and members of the family:

I was saddened to learn of the death of your dear father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, John Michael Quealy. At times such as these, words are unable to carry the full message of comfort and consolation which we want them to bear, but they are all we have. Having experienced the death of my own father in 1995, I am aware of the deep emotions which accompany such a loss. Be sure of continued remembrance of him in my prayers and those of all the Brothers here at Lewis.

May the Lord continue to hold you as well as all your family and friends in the hollow of his hand and may you find his comforting presence in the silent power of prayer, in the wisdom of the Scripture, the nourishment of the Eucharist, the beauty of the liturgy, and in all his holy people gathered round you to help us.

I join my voice to the ancient hymn of the early Church:

May the angels lead him into Paradise.
May the martyrs come and welcome him on his way
And lead him into the holy city, Jerusalem.
May the choirs of angels welcome him.
And with Lazarus, who once was poor,
May he have everlasting life. Amen.

I close with the traditional prayer which we Brothers have prayed for over three hundred years:
Live Jesus in our hearts--Forever.

With sympathy and promise of prayers,
Your Brother,

Mrs. Quealy and Kids,

I was very sorry to hear about your husband/father’s passing. I know that it’s been a long time since I’ve seen him, but when I think of him it brings a smile to my face and it seems like yesterday. I remember all the cookouts in the backyard when a hungry young man was always welcome at the Quealy’s. I remember the “super burger” a customized burger designed by Mr. Quealy that came with all the condiments already inside. And then later we’d go into the family room and sing a few rounds of “The Rose of Tralee”. Your husband/father was a big part of my life then and still is today. He was a unique man who always had a smile for you, never complained, and doted over his family. You guys were lucky to have his guidance, wisdom, and love for such a long time. Thanks for sharing him with me and my family, I know that he will always hold a spot in our hearts.

Dan & Debbie - I had the chance to meet you dad in early September. He up-dated me on how your family is growing. He also talked about golf - my dad had only gotten one hole-in-one!! He was a pleasure to talk to & I was sorry to hear that he had passed away.
I don't know if he ever had the chance to tell you that I had met him & to tell you that I said "Hi". My thoughts are with you. Kathy Kenney

Dear Jean and Family:

Sincere condolences on Jack's passing. The memories keep flooding back: The house in Hometown, the crowds at the parties, Uncle Lou, Uncle Mitch, the young bucks doing their beer chugging and so many other things too numerous to mention here. Those times will live forever in our hearts. We will keep Jack in our prayers as long as we live.
