John E. Slechter, Jr., age 81 of Westchester. Army Veteran. Beloved husband of Jill Slechter, nee Andrews; cherished daddy of Suzie; loving brother of Robert (Margie) Slechter and Edward (Rita) Slechter; fond brother in law of Sharon Andrews; proud uncle of Eddie (Lisa) Slechter, Scott (Dympna) Slechter, Robert (Jessica) Slechter and Christine (Michael) Slechter; great uncle of many nieces and nephews. Retiree of US postal service, member of local union branch 11 Loop Station. Visitation Monday April 5, 2021 from 9 A.M. until time of service at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd., 9445 West 31st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513. Service 11:00 A.M. Due to Covid Regulations a maximum of 50 people are allowed in the funeral home at a time. Face coverings are required, the lounge facilities are closed, food or beverages are not allowed at this time. All are asked to pay their respects/condolences to Jill and her family and be cognitive of others waiting to do the same. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside Illinois.
