Dr. Thometz was the definition of a great man. He delivered me in 1986 and saw me until he retired I believe. I have yet to find another doctor like him. He truly loved what he did, which was healing and helping. I have missed him since he retired and I'm so saddened by his passing. I can still remember my booster in the butt and when he took the stitches out of my cheek when I was 4. My deepest sympathies.

Dr. Thometz was always very kind and I am thankful to have had a doctor where you could call and get the same person on a regular basis and not be put on hold as is customary today! He was always able to squeeze us in when we were sick, "immediate care" centers weren't necessary when you had someone like him as your doctor. He was a blessing to many.

I am so heartbroken to find out that my precious family doctor since I was 12 years old has indeed passed away.
Dr. Thometz was a REAL doctor, he always answered his own phone, was the kindest most gentle man I have ever known.
When we were kids we didn't have a lot of money and Dr. Thometz barely charged us. Whenever I had another baby, I always felt nervous and afraid until Dr. Thometz walked into the room, then I felt almost as if God Himself had shown up. He delivered 11 of my 12 daughters, was my mothers, grandmothers, and uncles doctor as well as some of my children and grandchildrens doctor.
When I had my last child on Feb. 1 1984 he didn'y say anything like he usually did so I asked him, "Well, what is it?" He laughed and asked me, "Do you even have to ask?"
We loved Dr. Thometz like he was a member of our very own family. When I didn't receive a Christmas card from him last year I had a dreadful feeling. Just this morning I was thinking about him and knew that I must call his home to find out how he was, then tonight my daughter called and told me that my beloved doctor had passed away.
He was never in a hurry and because he always took as much time as was needed with each patient we knew we would be in for a long wait but it was worth it to see the best doctor in the whole world, Dt. Thometz. He cared about his patients and we cared about him. Loved him.
The year he retired my mother, sister Debbie and my niece went to pay him a visit. I videotaped that visit and we all posed with him. Oh it was wonderful! Just like he was part of our family. He told me before we left, "I want pictures." So I made him and Anne a videotape and we are all in that with him.He was truly thrilled that we loved him so much and said that he and Anne watched the tape and enjoyed it. So if anyone in his family happens to see this and want to know what we look like just look for that videotape.
May The Lord be with each and every one of you, his family and friends.
I know that I will see him again Praise God for I know he is with The Lord and I will be with the Lord one day also. What a wonderful hope.
With a heart full of love and gratitude,
Carol Erickson.

So Sorry to hear of his passing. I have many memories of going to his office when it was above the restaurant and the other office when it moved there. He delivered all 12 of my mother's daughters and I believe up
to her 6th child's children. He was a great man and terrific Doctor. Very fond memories...Carrie Iafoski

Dear Thometz family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I too have had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Thometz. I have so many fond memories of him. He delivered me and I believe 11 out of 12 of my siblings. He delivered my 2 children as well. He was very kind and compassionate and truly cared for his patients. We will never find another doctor like him. God Bless you!

I have many fond memories of Dr. Thometz as he is the doctor that delivered me when I was born. When I left home at a very early age, I could not afford doctors visits, Dr. Thometz told me he would treat me for free as long as I stayed in school. He wasn't your average doctor, he really was used by God to help people that could not afford treatment. I will never forget his kindness. He will be missed! My prayers are with all your family. Just found out about your fathers passing. He will always be remembered for his genuine kindness and concern for his patients. He delievered me and my oldest child. He had been our familys doctor for very many years, until he retired. He was very rare as far as docors go. He really had a passion and concern for his patients and several times he even made house calls to my great grandmother and my crippled uncle. His fees were so low, you often wondered how he even made any money at all. I remember once, a family member didn't have the funds to visit him and he was offended that they thought that that should keep them away. I remember for years he only charged $10.00 a visit when everyone else was charging $75-100. He finally raised his fee to $20.00. I don't beleive that we'll ever find another doctor or person like your father. You have been blessed to have been given him. May God bless you and your family this Christmas!

Dr. Thometz will always be remembered in my family. Not only was he a dear friend and employer to my grandmother (Lorraine Couillard) but he also brought me into this world and had many a day where I would be helping him around the office with my grandma. He was always a very sweet and genuine man.

I made my grandma's pound cake yesterday and thought of Dr Thometz. She also was a patient of his and would bring him pound cake on a regular basis. My deepest sympathy. He was part of our family for four generations.
