Joseph R. Kovanda, 89, beloved husband of 60 years to the late Donna; loving father of Dr. Carol (Dr. Mark Ludvigson) Kovanda and Gary (Jeanne) Kovanda; dear grandfather of Gregory and Stephanie Kovanda; brother of the late Emilie Kovanda. Longtime employee of Intermatic, Inc. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 8, at 1 p.m. at Wyndemere Retirement Community, 200 Wyndemere Circle, Wheaton, IL. Interment in Athens, OH. What a lovely memorial you've written about your dad. It offers a wonderful sense of who he was. Losing a parent is so difficult. I hope you're able to find comfort in knowing he is together again with his wife, sister and parents. Our prayers for comfort & peace are with you.

Joe was a remarkable and very creative man. I know this because I worked with Joe in the lab at Intermatic. He shared his knowledge with me which greatly helped me after he retired. Joe was a real patriotic American. He would tell many interesting stories from the time he spent in CIC. Joe had a great sense of humor (ie the Polish marry-go-round). Joe will be remembered always.
