When Joe was in RCIA a few years ago, he was an inspiration to many of us, by the conviciton of his faith and the way he accepted every day as a gift. In a way, he taught us more about living in faith than we were able to teach him. It was in that quiet witness that Joe left his legacy for us who shared that year in RCIA with him.

Barb, Please know that all your old friends at Cass are feeling very sad for you and your family.
That husband of yours was one very funny man. Joe could make me laugh like nobody. I will always remember Joe as the sweetest man with a heart of gold even for big smelly stray dogs! I am remembering that early morning phone call from Joe reporting the stray collie. I pulled up to Benet and there Joe sat under the tree with that big beast waiting for me. That was a story with a happy ending because Joe was Joe.
Anyone who spent any time with the two of you could see how much he loved you. It was also easy to see how much you loved him. You were a great couple and so devoted to each other and your family.
Barb, I am glad you have such a strong family. I know how close you all are and I know you will be given good support and lots of hugs. You're a Grandma! I didn't know that until just now. Wow!
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope to see you.
