Joy Hoyt Obituary

Joy M. Hoyt, nee Reyes, age 74, 40 year resident of Lombard, beloved wife of Earle for 29 years; loving mother of Kathleen Cartwright, Charles Cartwright, James (Susan) Cartwright and David (Claire) Cartwright; dearest stepmother of Michael B. Hoyt, Linda (Jeffrey) White and the late Timothy Hoyt; devoted grandmother of 19; great-grandmother of 13; fond sister-in-law to Clover (the late Lawrence) Wagner, John Hoyt and Nancy (Bill) Urquhart; aunt of many nieces and nephews. Joy was involved with the Lombard Historical Society, a member of Lombard's Lilac Day Parade Committee, a den mother and Girl Scout leader. Joy was also proudly noted as being the former president of the PTA at the Peter Hoy School, a founding member of the Ocean Waves Square Dance Club, former co-president of the Metropolitan Chicago Association of Square Dance Clubs, co-founder and very first president of the State Council of the Illinois Square Dancers Association, past co-president of the United Square Dancers of America, former president of the Dental Hygienists Association and a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Lombard. Visitation Wednesday 3 to 9 p.m. at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Rd. (3 blocks S. of Roosevelt Rd.), Lombard. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday 11 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church of Lombard. Memorials to the Community Presbyterian Church greatly appreciated. Info, 630-932-1500.
