It is never easy to lose a great person; I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to the Newman family. While I had only known Julius for a short five years, it was my privilege and honor to have done that. His contributions to his fellow man are only modestly detailed in his abbreviated obituary. Julius clearly contributed much much more. Those of us who knew him will remember and carry forward a piece of him in our own lives. I will greatly miss the twinkle in his eyes as well as his infectious smile.
Godspeed Julius.

Dr. Newman was my boss at Rush-Copley from 1984 to 1996 when he retired. I was his secretary and in all the time I worked with him, he was a perfect gentleman and dedicated leader. He was the finest person I have ever worked with. His selfless dedication to Rush-Copley contributed to the outstanding position it holds in our community today. On a personal level, he was a friend you could trust, a wonderful teacher and he made it fun to come to work everyday. I offer my sincere condolences to Jay, Elizabeth and Bonnie.

I got to know Julie well when I was representing Copley as an attorney. He was a pure pleasure to work with. Over time my wife and I got to spend time with the Newmans as a couple..One of our fondest memories was attending a Bulls playoff game which turned out to be one of Michael Jordan's signature game..We had to shout into each others ears just to be heard..great folks to work and have fun with..They will be missed

I'll never forget Julie, what he taught me, and what he meant to me. He was a teacher, a mentor, a giving human being and a friend. He was a shining example of what it meant to be a physician and healer. I was blessed to be able to talk to him last Tuesday. I think he knew it was "his time" and felt comfortable with that knowledge. He will be missed and fondly remembered by all. They don't make people like him any more.
