June Grady Obituary

June Elaine Grady, 97, of Elgin passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at The Grand Victorian of Rockford. She was born January 8, 1918 in Elgin the daughter of Leo and Anna Bauman Shales. She had been a resident of Elgin for most of her life and was a graduate of Elgin High School. She was employed by David White for many years before retiring. She will always be remembered for her great love of the movies. Surviving are her daughter, Kathleen Lohmeyer of Huntley and her son, Patrick (Hansina) Grady of Rockford, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward M. Grady, a son, Dennis M. Grady, 2 brothers, Robert and LeRoy "Cap" Shales and her son in law, Larry Lohmeyer. Private services were held with burial at Mount Hope Cemetery, Elgin. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the charity of one's choice. Kathy, I remember your mom loved movies so much, I would see her occasionally walking to the theaters at the Grand Victoria. She was a sweetheart!
