I miss you so much Daddy. It's been almost seven months and here I am still balling my eyes out. I can't do this without you Dad. I miss you too much! I miss your santa beard and big old belly and the way you hugged me cuz your belly was too big to get my arms around your back. I love you Dad, I miss you so much it's ridiculous. I wish I had just one day, one hour, one minute left with you. There's so much I never got to say to you Dad. I'm sorry! I love you! Rest in peace!

The Journey

As the dry and dusty trail stretched before me,
I thought of what had been, existing now in memory.
The plains of summer grasses, the stream of pure mountain waters,
the colors of the rainbow scattered in a mosaic of unbelievable complexity.

In the distance a thunderhead is building, the rumbling of it's internal
construction can almost be heard, more likely imagined.

Once again I turn my attention to the path.

It seems to lead to the sun, resting now on the far horizon.
The clouds and sky, reflect the heart of the sun and all that it is.
With the purple, pink, shades of blue, orange and crimson.
These colors blending with earth tones of land as it reaches to the light of creation.

I relax and know that my path is before me, the purpose is remembering.
There is a breeze that comes from behind me,
As if to push me forward and I sense the presence of one I cannot see.

Seeing without sight the winds embrace me, and whisper softly.
"You are never alone, for I am always with you".

My steps though tentative, begin again. The earth guides me, the wind
embraces me, the waters nourish me, and the fires warm me.
These things I will remember and know I will never be, as I have never been, "alone."

The journey begins anew

To Kay,
We have both lost someone near and dear to us. Your husband/my brother. It's important for me to tell you that he went way to early but the two of you had something he never had before. You've been the only true love off his life. I am so glad that you brought him the happiness he wanted so much and I know how much you love him too. I want you to know how much we love you and that you, your son and daughter and their families are and always will be a very important part of our family.
Pam

Dear Pam and family, So many times you spoke about your brother and his family to me I feel like I knew each one. It was a shock to read of his passing and my sympathy to you. I can only imagine how you must feel since you are a family person and always cared about your family. Each member was/is so important to you. Take care of yourself and I'll call you. Sending along a big hug and any support needed. Much love and concern, Marilyn

Dear Pam and family,

I am so saddened to hear of your brother's death. You did not mention that he was ill when we were together. I remember him as quite a nice guy -- not to mention what a handsome young man he was. Obviously, we have no control over the time for our loved ones to die -- but I believe that our mutual love for each other remains until we meet again one day. I extend to each of you my sincere sympathy.

With lots of love, Janie

If ever you need me,
I'll be right here,
To chase away the sadness,
And wipe away a tear.

If ever you need me,
I'll be two steps behind,
To follow in your footsteps,
And hear what's on your mind.

If ever you need me,
You'll never have to fear,
That your presence isn't important,
And your love isn't dear.

If ever you need me,
I'll always be around,
To bring back the laughter,
Where deep in your heart it's found.

You'll never have to worry,
For I'll always be here,
To chase away the sadness,
And wipe away a tear.

Cami, i love you so much. You are in my thoughts and in my prayers. I am thinking of you and your family.

I knew Karl from when we were 5 years old. Now I'm approaching 60 and I'm gonna miss him BIG TIME. In fact we just spoke a few weeks ago when he was visiting his sister and brother-in law in Deerfield IL.

I have very fond memories of ridding his mini bike up and down his driveway and then over at Skeets Millards lake front property. What a blast it was. I also remember palying croquette next door to his parents house at Dr. McNeals house. Jimmy McNeal, Karl, Chip Altholthz and me would also hang out in Chipper's tree fort.

Karl always stopped by to see me several times a year at my Gurnee office. He always had something to say about cleaning up the water and the wastewater. He was one of my biggest fans of Air Diffusion Systems (my business) to purify water & wastewater the "Natural Way".

He always like my inventor dad and remindered my how great both our dads were. We we so lucky to have each other as true friends and almost like brothers.

We had a lot in common and we shared many ideas together to try and solve community & wolrd problems.

I'm gonna really miss him!
May God rest his sloe in Peace!
I love you Karl and I'm gonna say a little prayer for you today.

One of your best buddies,
Johnny Hinde

This was written by Karl's (Kim's) mother on the day he was born:

To Kim - April18,1949
Out of the darkness and through a veil of mist I reach for you....
As though in a dream suddenly you are there before me.
I hold your tiny pink hand as though it were a fragile rose, so fresh on a bright summer day.
I hear you cry, bringing me back to reality...
And then I hold you, not quite believing you are real.
A new life waiting to be cared for and loved...
Like the rarest of tiny buds,
My son....

I thought when I said good-bye to you and Kay at the airport that it was for the last time because of my health. Never did I dream that it would be you who would go first. I wish I had taken one more last look at you, given one more hug. You are with me forever in my heart and I promise that we will do everything we can to help Kay get through this. You two were the best thing that happened to each other. And the best brother in the world.
I Love You Kim.
