Lynda Shaheen wrote to me and I felt so sad when I read her mail. The very first things I remember when thinking about Kathy are her smile and kindness. I wanted to express condolences to your family, who welcomed me with so much warmth many years ago as I arrived in Lancaster as an exchange student. I have never forgotten the wonderful time spent with you all.Today I am with you by the thought.

Katerina was such a special friend. We spent a lot of time together when she lived in Towson. She had such a sweet and positive spirit. Peace to your family. I know you will miss her dearly!

Katerina was a deeply caring and vivacious person. She was a great example of living with integrity and laughter so many happy memories from our early days at SFA! And each year we look forward to seeing the Pagones family's smiling faces among our Christmas notes. We are holding of all of the people who are touched by this awful loss close in our hearts.

Kathy and I were friends in college. Time and location faded away but the special place that Kathy had in my heart will forever remain. My thoughts are with all her family and friends.

Hearing this news was gutwrenching, to say the least. Katerina was a beautiful person, inside and out. She always had a kind smile, a good word, and an open heart. She was part of a group of Greek-Americans who had moved to DC; we mourn her like a sister. To Paul, Sofia and Luke, you know how special your wife and mom is... she was special to many of her friends who cried for her and for your immeasurable loss when hearing of this awful news. You are in our prayers and thoughts. We were lucky to have Katerina in our lives during the 1990's.... you were blessed to have a wife and mom like her. Keep her in your memories forever....
