Kevin Janiak Obituary

Kevin Aloysius Janiak (78) peacefully passed away in his sleep on March 3, 2021 with his children by his side. He was born in Chicago and met many of his friends in Plainfield, IL and Estero, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aloysius and Irene Janiak, his brother Kenny and his wife Gloria. He loved airplanes, adventure, traveling and his numerous friends. His children were the beneficiaries of his love of flying his Twin Comanche and traveled all over the country. His favorite vacation spot was Turtle Cay in the Bahamas. His claim to fame was catching less fish in more places than anybody! Although he wasn't the most politically correct person, he was kind, generous, funny and a great father to his son, Kevin (Nikole) Janiak and his daughter Susan (Steve) Silhavy. He also adored his five grandchildren, Alexandra (Kyle) Collman, Courtney Janiak, Kali Silhavy, Emma Janiak and Daniel Silhavy. Great big brother to Kenny (Georgeanne), Karen (Stan), Keith (Inez), and Kathy (Jack) and beloved Uncle to Todd, John, Matthew, Abby, Erik and Jacob and Great Uncle to many. He lived three lifetimes of adventure and the stories and laughs will be with us forever.

I miss Kevin. He was a great guy and good friend. I worked with Kevin, made money with Kevin and had a lot of laughs and good times with Kevin. He knew the Truck Business, made a lot of good connections and did very well.
I miss his Mis-matched socks, his paper clip holding his glasses together and his good stories. He was One of a Kind.
I hope the fish are biting up there and the beer is cold.
God Bless You.

My deepest condolences. Kevin and I went to Five Holy Martyrs. We were in the Boy Scouts together too. The last time I saw him was in late 1956 when we traded some American Flyer trains. We went to different high schools and lost touch. Today for some reason I started to think about him and that led me to his obituary. He was a good friend and someone who everyone will miss.

I´m sad to learn of Kevin´s passing. His twin Comanche was the first twin I had stick time in. He love sharing his joy of flying and was always willing to help out another pilot in need. Prayers to all in his family.

Kevin was “One of a kind”. Good friend to many people all walks of life. I met Kevin through my father over 40 years ago. To say Kevin was a character is putting it mildly. Good friend, loyal and always had your back.
Although you would never think it, from looking at him, he usually had 2 different color socks on or his glasses were held together with a paperclip, he was genuine. He was a great pilot and great salesman. He could sell Ice to an Eskimo.
I loved Kevin and will miss him a lot.He loved his kids and his “Soulmate Gloria”.
He’ll be missed by many and remembered
As a Good Friend.
