Kim Erickson Obituary

Kim Ellen Erickson passed peacefully the morning of January 17. She was born September 27, 1955. She was the much loved daughter of the late Jean and Ray Erickson of Western Springs. Kim was born with an intellectual disability and her parents fought for her rights and helped make it better for people with disabilities. Kim is survived by her loving brother Kenneth Erickson of Virginia, her adoring sister Karen and John Weyrauch, Minneapolis, and her devoted sister whose life was forever changed for the better by being her sister, Kathy and Chris Tobin, Western Springs. Kim also loved her nephew Dave Weyrauch and family, Chicago and her niece Sally Wood and family of Minneapolis. Also important in her life was her Aunt Jane and her cousins. Until recently, Kim resided in a Ray Graham Association home in Woodridge, IL. So many caring direct care workers treated her like their own. She had a love of music and even sang at the White House with the Ray Graham Singers under the direction of Roger Anderson.

Kim resided at The Grove, Berwyn since October. Thank you to the loving staff there and to Season's Hospice who cared for her there. Kim enriched our lives and gave more than she took. We will miss her tremendously but are comforted that she is with the Lord. Donations would be appreciated in Kim's memory to the Ray Graham Association for People with Disabilities, 901 Warrenville Road, IL 60532 or to Season's Hospice, www. seasons.org.
