KURT LAUER Obituary

Kurt Johnson Lauer, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2011 following a courageous battle with cancer. Kurt was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 8, 1960 and was a long-time resident of Chicago, IL. He is survived by loving girlfriend, Amy Brennan; devoted sister Kim (Chip) Hyland; dear in-laws Jack and Dottie Pickett, Susan (Fred) Hirschler, and Nina (Jon) Graves; fond nephews Blake Skinner, Christopher Graves, and Spencer Hyland; and cherished nieces Megan Graves and Sloan Hyland. Kurt was the proud owner of Kurt Lauer Photography. He was a gifted photographer and woodworker who never lost his curiosity, humor, and passion for life, no matter what challenges he faced. Kurt believed that life should be enjoyed to the fullest, and he lived in the spirit of one of his favorite sayings: A ship is safe in harbor, but that's not what ships are for. He was a true and loyal friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. There will be a celebration of Kurt's life in Chicago, IL, details to be determined. Dear Kim & loved ones of Kurt.

Please accept my deepest sympathy.
The last time I saw Kurt/Kim was @ the party for Pat (his/her mother) when we had a wonderful time remembering the fun times.
Thanks to Jane Scuillo who told me the sad news.
Again, my deepest sympathy to those who knew/loved Kurt.
