Merry Christmas Mom;
We celebrated the third Christmas Eve without you yesterday, and want you to know that we all honored you before we began our festivities. You were always the one who enjoyed all the parties we always had and you were always the belle of the ball. It is bittersweet now, we miss you so much but do enjoy the time we all have together. Almost everyone was here, except Jessie. We had a stocking stuffer for the children and then the adults. It was a lot of fun. Then we had a traditional meal of chili, spanish rice, tamales and ham & cheese sandwiches. I made your recipe for the chili and rice. You are always with me, there is so much of you in me that I always feel the comfort.
After dinner, we all opened presents and as usual there was way too much stuff! But happiness and joy was the name of the game. Everyone loved what they got, and thanked all for the nice gifts. Then it was the best time, Dessert! We had a ton of homemade cookies, english pudding, baklava, strawberry/blueberry shortcake and more. The party was a huge success, but the most important part was Drake reading the story of the birth of Christ. The reason for the season. We are all so thankful and blessed and will always thank God for all He provides. I will say good-bye now, as this is the last time I will be writing to you this way. I will write letters to you personally and save them in your box of momentos.
I love you very much and will see you again some day. Take care of all the boys up there, they need you now. All my love, from your devoted daughter, Elaine

Dear Mom
Happy Birthday! Today is your 92nd birthday and I sang a song to you this morning. It's also Nana's birthday, so I know you are celebrating with her today. I still miss you so very much, and wish you were still here with me. I moved again, to a smaller condo, closer to Sue's house. It was much too lonely in Racine all by myself. I had too much time to sit and feel sorry for myself. And I know it's time for me to be moving on in my life. I plan on retiring at the end of November, and will spend more time on bible study and maybe even volunteering at a senior home. Sue and I do a lot of things together, she's such a wonderful daughter and watches over me just like I did for you. Bob and Joe are real close too, they always call or visit me and make sure I'm okay. I am so blessed with such a wonderful family, and it all began with you. Thank you very much for that. Your life wasn't easy but you kept us all together and we did just fine. I think about heaven sometime, and know when I get there I will be so happy to see you and everyone else that I miss, especially Julius. Bye, bye for now, keep that sunshine coming my way everyday. Love you so much.

Hello my dear Mom,
Today is 2 years since you left us to go to heaven and to your reward. It's been a long, long 2 years, but I am doing pretty good. I think of you so very much and wish you were still here with me. I know you are in a beautiful, wonderful place, where there is no pain and sorrow, no grief or sadness. It is the promise we all have to look forward to.
I still miss Julius so very much also, and especially the fun we all had together. He is always on my mind and I think about the good times as much as I can, so I don't get too sad. The family is doing great, but we are still hoping to have a reunion one of these years. Tommy Saielli is getting married this June, on Dolores' birthday, so that will be a very happy occasion to celebrate. I know you will be there with us. I can always feel your presence in my every day life, and I smile.
I love you very much and will see you in my dreams...You are the sunshine of my life.

Hello Mom,
It's been a hard year without you and Julius, but you are both still right here in my heart. I miss and love you so much, but I talk to you, as you know, all the time and feel your presence around me.
My new house is very nice but a bit lonely with out you and Julius. You would like the location, there are people walking and biking by and everyone walks their dogs right down my street. I sometimes walk Gracie for a few blocks when the weather is nice, she's getting older and can't walk very far.
Thank you for all the love and direction you always gave me throughout my life. You always made me feel better and laugh at situations. I love you very much and know you are free now and out of the pain of that horrible illness you suffered. And you are with your family and loved ones, and most of all with Jesus and God.
Love from you no. 2 daughter,
Eeelaine
