I just learned of the passing of Dr. Leela Prasad and I´m so very sorry to hear this sad news. I worked with Dr. Prasad when he joined the medical staff of Forkosh hospital in the early 70s. Dr. Prasad was always pleasant and professional, someone who would go out of his way to advocate for his patients. He was very clinically knowledgeable and his surgical skills were outstanding. Dr. Prasad was the type of man who prepared each aspect of the case in detail; he researched the literature to make sure he was using his vast clinical knowledge and technical skills by using new techniques and applying treatments that were the most current and most beneficial for his patience. He was first of all a great man, and secondly a great, well respected surgeon! Rest In Peace Dr. Prasad, you were one of a kind.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Dear Dr. Suseela and Family, I just found out about Dr Prasads passing. As so many have said, he saved my life and I shall be eternally grateful for his presence in this world. Several times I spoke to him of my daughter, now a resident in neurology, when she was in medical school and had decisions to make. Even in this he was so wise and gave such valuable advice. We do not often have the opportunity to cross the path of someone so kind, intelligent, and caring as your dear husband. He was a blessing to all who benefited from his care.

Very sad to hear that Dr Prasad passed away. What a wonderful doctor and kind person he was. I saw him for close to 20 years and I believe he saved my life in 2012 with surgery he performed on me. In addition to his medical skills, he had a great sense of humor. May he rest in peace and God bless.

He saved my life at age 16 after many told me there isn't any other options.
He was always smiling and yet so professional always. He was a gift from God to me and to so many. I'm saddened that I didn't get to see him and show him how well I am, thanks to his magical hands and world of knowledge. Bless you Dr Prasad and rip now.

Dr. Prasad was a groundbreaking surgeon and saved my life. In 1989, when I was just 13 years old, he operated on me and gave my family the assurance that what he was doing was the best for me (and it was!). I was young and don't quite remember all of the details, but I believe I was one of his youngest patients. I am saddened to hear of his passing and will be eternally grateful for what he did for me.

My husband and I were very saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Prasad. We had not been to the office since November and when we came in today we heard. So very sad. He had been my husbands doctor for about 7 years, and was always so kind and thoughtful. He will be missed

Great doctor and human being with good heart

My husband & I are saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Prasad. I heard about it today from my primary care Dr., who suggested to me it might be time for another exam. I told her I see Dr. Prasad...and then she told me the sad news.

He was first recommended to us years ago by Dr. Ho Min Lim, who thought the world of him. We just want to share with his family that he was always such a pleasant, caring gentleman with a good humor, and a thorough Dr. He will certainly be missed by us, as well as countless others, no doubt.

Blessings to his family at this difficult time.

It was a matter of great shock and sadness to learn from Chicago Tribune only yesterday about the untimely demise of Leela.

During his training in India, he had spent 7 years under my supervision, and we have been keeping in touch with each other since. Incidentally, he named one of his sons after me. I personally feel like I have lost a near and dear member of the family. May god grant him eternal peace.

I've had trouble putting into words how sorry to hear of Leela's passing. We grew close as interns , residents and fellows at County. It was obvious that he was someone special as his maturity as a surgeon developed. The County family always enjoyed bragging that he was one of us because he made us better just by being able to say so. Forty five years is a long time to know someone but not enough to have known Leela. I respected him and was proud to refer to him as a friend and collegue.

My memories of Leela were that he was unfailingly friendly, very smart and a gifted clinician. His skills also extended to the OR where he not only knew what to do but also how to get it done in the most expeditious manner, for a surgeon I know of no higher compliments. He was a pleasure to work with.
I offer my deepest sympathies. He will be missed greatly.

I am certain that anyone who knew Leela would agree that he was outstanding in everything he did. He was my senior resident, my fellow, my attending, and my friend. He was a wonderful teacher, and he had the marvelous ability to help make a difficult operation very easy.
Suseela, I share the grief in Leela's passing with you, your family and friends, but I also treasure the opportunity of having had the privilege to know and work with him. My condolences.
