Leonard Golden Obituary

Len Golden age 86 of Skokie, Il passed away on January 19, 2022.

Husband of Mary Ann Killion, father to Vicki Stoller (Jay), Alan Golden (Denise), Michael Golden (Heather). Lenny was papa to a bunch of grandchildren and a great-grandfather as well. Stepfather to Jason Sidell, Leah Gannaway. He is also survived by his former wife, Carrie Rosenstein. Dad was a loyal friend and husband. He was not a fan of fanfare, as he enjoyed a private, humble, and low-key life. He loved his dogs, family, and friends- especially his buddies from Roosevelt High School "Dappers" with whom he stayed close. Lenny was a lifelong salesman and thoughtful artist. He was always busy learning printmaking techniques and looking for new subject material. Although he loved a do-it-yourself household project everybody who came by could tell he wasn't a perfectionist. That was ok with him. Material things meant very little…that is, except for his great cars. Lenny Golden will be remembered as a nice guy, a loving dad, and husband.

Uncle Leonard you were the best! Always made me laugh and I always loved spending time with you.

Sharing this picture of us at my first wedding. I will always remember how we sang Happy Birthday to you because I got married on your birthday! I love you! Say hi to mom and grandma for me

Papa Lenny was such a unique presence in my lift. He had an interesting way of expressing creativity and care. I'll always appreciate his business ideas although I don't know how much the world really needs a restaurant that only serves beans or a store that sells '1 shoe at a time'.
I fondly remember Papa picking me up to go for an interesting adventure or just to hang out at his house in Skokie. We'd often go to the Symphony at Northwestern or take Mugsy to the beach in Evanston then to get Cheeseburgers at Hubs (Mugsy didn't care for ketchup so he had his own order).
There was always something interesting at his house, whether it was old records or the giant fish tank - something always kept me interested!
I'll miss Papa but glad that he can now rest.
Papa - Thank you for always telling me how proud you are of me and giving me such a unique perspective on life. Love, Zack
