For some reason I was reminded of Dr. Kornel in my dreams last night and decided to look him up on the internet. He was very kind to me when I was a junior faculty member at Rush and I am happy that he lived to such an advanced age, hopefully in comfortable circumstances. His contributions to the scientific literature are testimony to a valuable life well spent and I join with his friends and family in mourning his demise.

My husband and I were very saddened to read about Dr Kornel's passing. While I was employed at Rush Medical Center I worked in his lab for a brief period of time. He was an excellent scientist and teacher, and I learned a great deal. Our condolences go out to his entire family.
