M. Novakovich Obituary

A member of the School Sisters of St. Francis of Christ the King (Lemont Franciscans) passed into eternity on June 22, 2022, after 76 years as a Sister. Born, Mary Julia in Chicago on January 5, 1927, she was preceded in death by her parents Matthew and Mary (Makar) Novakovich, her siblings; Helen Merrick, Anne Ryan, Bernadine Mutz, Delphine Villani, and Matthew Novakovich, and her niece Marlene (Merrick) Horan. She is survived by nieces Kathleen (Merrick) Shuler, Thomasine (Merrick) Peter, Dana Villani, Barbara (Ryan) Pestel, Lori (Novakovich) McConnaughey, Andrea (Novakovich) Wood, Paula Novakovich and nephews Dave Villani and Matthew Novakovich as well as loving grand and great grand nieces, grandnephews, cousins, friends, and students.

Her wake will take place at Alvernia Manor Chapel (Lemont) from 3:00 p.m. through 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 26 with a 6:30 p.m. Prayer Service. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 27 at 10:30 a.m. in the Alvernia Manor Chapel. Interment at St. Alphonsus Cemetery (Lemont) will follow the Mass.
