Marilyn J. Vondrasek, nee Greco, age 83, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2023 after a difficult battle with dementia. She was born on May 17, 1940 in Chicago, IL. Marilyn is survived by her husband Robert of 61 years, her daughter Deborah (Michael ) Tracy, and sons James and Mark (Nancy) Vondrasek; her grandchildren Erin (Ross) Mangano, James (Erin) Vondrasek, Jenna (Nick) Rankin, Rachel, Maria (Teddy) Tala, Robert and Mayalin Vondrasek; her great-grandchildren Drew Joan Rankin, Della Louise Mangano and Thaddeus Tala IV; her dear friend Karen Allen, and her sister of Charlene Mozdzierz. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Maria; her parents Angela (nee Bruno) Iacullo, Michael Greco and Rocco Iacullo, as well as loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Marilyn grew up in Berwyn and graduated from St. Mary of Celle Grade School, Class of 1954, Nazareth Academy, Class of 1958, and Secretarial School post High School. She was a most beloved secretary at Marsh and McLennan before dedicating herself to be a stay-at-home mom. She and her husband raised their three children in North Riverside as members of Mater Christi Parish. Once their children were grown they moved to Willowbrook and later Naperville. Before Marilyn's final days of being cared for at The Springs of Monarch Landing, she volunteered at Edward Hospital for many years in their floral and gift shop. Everyone who encountered Marilyn was greeted by a warm smile and a kind soul. She will be greatly missed by all who know and love her. The family is especially grateful for the excellent nurses and CNAs at The Springs who helped them with Marilyn's journey. For those who would like to pay tribute to Marilyn's life, please extend an unexpected act of kindness wherever it may be needed. All services are private.
