Marion Pendleton Obituary

Marion Tymeson Pendleton, 92, died July 7 in the Mather Pavilion in Evanston of lung cancer. Born May 27, 1913 in Maine, New York, Mrs. Pendleton taught high school Latin, English and French in New York and Muskegon, MI. After raising a family in Muskegon, Mrs. Pendleton and her husband spent part of several years in ZephryHills, FL. They moved to Evanston in 2000 to be near their son. She was an avid bridge player and wrote beautiful poetry. Crossword puzzles, reading and knitting also gave her many hours of pleasure. An active member of the residents council and book club at Mather Gardens retirement community, she also attended Lake Street Church. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Wesley W.; four children, Wesley W. Jr. (Marianna), Robert (Katy) of Evanston, Helen Wurz and Norman; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lake Street Church of Evanston on Wednesday, July 13 at 2 p.m.

I didn't have the pleasure of meeting you, however, I have met your daughter Helen. If she is anything like you, you were a great person and will be missed. Enjoy your new home.

A great bridge player and mother-in-law. She'll be missed by all who knew her.
