Toby
I am so sorry to learn so late that Marshall has passed. I have attempted to reach out many times. I think about how grateful I am that you and Marshall afforded the opportunity to me working in your home and passing my name, business to many in the Jewish community.
I want you to know without Marshall I doubt my company would have known success. Toby I think of you and Marshall daily. I will continue to thank God for his existence and want you to know you and Marshall will always be in my thoughts.

Marshall was such a nice person and has such a beautiful family. Toby, you and Marshall were a handsome couple; and the kids adorable.
Having worked for Marshall for several years, I knew the whole family. Marshall was kind-of cowboy tough, very funny and very kind; and a mentor to me.
My heart pours out to all who miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Taken too young; heaven must need him now. God Bless You.

Dear Katz family, I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I was in accounting school with Marshall at the U of I back in the glory days. Our paths crossed infrequently thereafter, but when they did it was an extreme pleasure. You have my condolences. Bob Weisman

To Mrs. Katz, Geri, Steve and the entire Katz Family,
My heartfelt condolence to all of you on Marshal’s passing. It’s been a very long time since we were neighbors (and kids) on Greenwood Street. Marshal, your big, strong confident older brother; beautiful/ smiling Geri (with her own secret bedroom hiding place!); and little Stevie traipsing behind... This fond image is forever etched into my memory. May your memories be a source of comfort.

Dear Katz family,

I was so sorry to hear of Marshall's passing. It was only last Sunday that Marc Samotny and I were golfing and reminiscing about our old friends and we talked about Marshall. Neither of us had recently spoken to Marshall and we wondered how he was doing. How incredibly sad it was to hear that he had passed away the next day. I only wish I had called to see how he was. I have very fond memories of him. I know he will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
Love, Marv

Dear Toby, Stuart, Alex, Rachel and your Beautiful Families,

It is so hard to believe Marshall has passed away.
His love for all of you showed in so many ways. His eyes twinkled when any of you were in the room.
He was a wonderful Husband and Dad (and so much more).
You were such a big part of my life and my heart aches for all of you.
I’m so sorry for his loss, I know he will be missed deeply.

Love, Sue

Marshall and I first met when we were young boys at Skokie Valley Traditional Synagogue. Marshall and I looked forward to seeing each other and our respective families during the high holidays as well as throughout the year at Hebrew school. We forged a lifetime friendship, the unique and special kind that endures regardless of time between seeing each other and which always picks up where it left off last. Iris and I were blessed to share countless life cycle and other events with Marshall, Toby, and the entire Katz family. We were enriched by our treasured relationship. Our hearts are broken. May Marshall’s memory serve as a blessing.

Our families were very close especially with Etta, Ernest and Marshall. We did some business together and it was a pleasure working with Marshall. Up until recently, we would periodically breakfast together at his egg place on lake cook road. Marshall attended camp as a kid with our brother Sandy Levin. Marshall was a deep thinker and exceedingly quick.
Sy last spoke to him in February when he was trying to keep from making a mistake in a deal. He seemed less than his ebullient self and we couldn't figure out why. I asked about Toby and he said that it was tough, but that he loved her greatly, and as a result, the tough part of dealing with Parkinson's meant nothing. It was a beautiful thought.
Clearly we will miss him greatly.

Bonnie and I were shocked with disbelief. My close friendship with Marshall was founded through our parents relationship in Europe that carried on through the years. We're a year apart, grew up together, shared guidance and advice, that secured a closeness that made us family. We enjoyed good times and consoled each other during the bad times.
He was always there for me and I did my best to be there for him.
We will miss him very much and keep the good memories forever.
