We got to know Father Marty at St. Patrick's Church. He was always so open and positive. His contribution to the church added to the closeness of our community. He is truly missed. Our condolences to his family.

Ah dear 'Marty' we knew each other (and many other lovely folks) through a production of 'The Male Animal' at Mundelien College in 1969/70. Even then you were a kind, mature and delightful colleague. May your spirit soar and then return to a world that desperately needs gentle strength and steely courage.

Our deepest sympathy to all Father Marty’s family. On Oct. 2003, twenty years ago, Father asked us if he could bless us for our 50th wedding anniversary and of course we said “yes”. He was so thoughtful , friendly and always with a smile to all St. Pat’s families. He will be greatly missed by all.

I had the honor of working with Father Martin in the creation of a program to form Catholic school principals as catechetical leaders in their schools. Father Zielinski was a major contributor to the development and administration of the program. When meeting with him he was welcoming, open and generous with ideas and time. His smile was natural to his demeanor. He had a profound sense of service that helped people working with him at the administrative level to feel at ease and comfortable in knowing that the work would be done. I am grateful to have been a coworker with Father Zielinski in the Vineyard of Catholic education. Rest well!
