Mary Hilgart Obituary

Mary Ann Hilgart, beloved wife, mother and grandma, 67, of Rockford, passed away from a sudden heart attack on Sunday, May 30, 2004 at St. Anthony Medical Center. She was born June 21, 1936 in Chicago, the daughter of Earl and Genevieve Hawking. She married Steve Hilgart in Chicago. Mary Ann retired from Stone Wheel, Inc. after 23 years of service. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family. She was an annual camper at Paradise Park Campground in Garden Prairie, IL and a longtime member of the Navy Club of Rockford. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, trips to HoChunk and the Grand Victoria and traveling. She is survived by her loving husband, Steve; daughter, Karen (Jeff) Finley-Reisetter of Machesney Park, IL; sons, John (Tami) Hilgart of Rockton, IL and Steve (Stacey) of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Ryan Finley, Michael and Amanda Hilgart and Caylie and Max Hilgart; stepgrandchildren, Kari, Christopher and Jordan Reisetter; brother, Kenneth (Rose) Hawking of Chicago; and special friends, LaVonne and Charlie Brown of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Earl and Eugene Hawking. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2004 at Holy Family Catholic Church, with Father Rudden officiating. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
