Mary Louise Riddle Risner

Mary Louise Riddle Risner, 86, of Naperville, Illinois, passed away on Saturday November 27, 2021. She was born on July 3, 1935, in Chicago to Helen (Schmidt) and John Ellerbrock. Loving mother of William Riddle Jr., Leslie Mills, Tina (Willem) Havenaar, and John (Brenda) Riddle. Stepmother of Claudia (Rick Moody) Risner, Valerie (Randy) Trumbull, and Joe (Nancy) Risner. Dear grandmother of Stacie (Richard) Woodhouse, Sarah Mills, Anthony Walton, Brittany Riddle, Michael Mills, and Jessica Riddle. Step grandmother of Wayne (Karla) Risner, Amelia Risner, Elizabeth Risner, Grace Risner, and Claire Risner. Great grandmother of Cheyenne, Ricky, Cody, Madison, and Sonny. Step great grandmother of Helena Isabel. She was also survived by her cousin Esther (Ehlers) Ellertson. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husbands William Ross Riddle and Richard Wayne Risner, her parents, Stepson Andrew Risner, and Siblings John "Jack" Ellerbrock and Robert Ellerbrock. Mary Lou grew up in Chicago and attended Austin High School - class of 1953. After graduation she worked for the phone company as an operator. She married William on May 1, 1954. They started their life together in Chicago and later moved to Lombard, Illinois. William passed in 1992. She married Richard on July 9th 1995. Together they enjoyed retirement, world travel, and the great family they brought together. Mary Lou enjoyed her family, shopping, and the finer things in life. Over the years she was very involved in the Lombard Jaycees and Junior Women's clubs working on civic and volunteer projects, and also graduated as a CNA and worked as a phlebotomist for a few years before retirement. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Lung Association, COPD foundation, and/or Atrial Fibrillation Association. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, from 9:00-11:00 AM with a service at 11:00 AM at Friedrich Jones Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 44 South Mill St., Naperville IL 60540.
