Mr. & Mrs. Kocher,
I am a former student of Mr. Kocher. He was my teacher at St. Laurence High School back in 1987. I am very sorry to have learned about your son and I want to convey to you my sincerest sympathies. Please know that you and your family are in my family's prayers. Mr. Kocher, too many students and years have passed so I realize that you probably would not remember me. Again, I cannot say enough to you and your wife to ease your mourning. I hope that you do find some comfort knowing that your son is still with you through your faith.

Kathy and John, We imagine there is no pain more far-reaching and deeper than the loss of a child. Our hearts go out to you at this most difficult time. We were so fortunate to have known Matt from our Florida trips and he was always such a sweet, handsome and polite young man. We will always remember his wonderful smile especially when we took your family photos at the beach.

Dear John, Kathy, & Family,
Finding the words to help ease your pain and broken hearts is difficult. Yet the words to remember Matt by come so easily. We were deeply touched by all the good words that were expressed about Matt from all who knew and loved him. Words that expressed what a caring and loving person he was. One word besides all the others that we remember is respectful. Matt always showed that with a friendly Hi, Mr./Mrs. Ventrice from across the street. Words and memories are what you have to hold on to. Yours of Matt's are truly wonderful ones. Keeping you in our hearts and prayers.

I am very saddened to hear about the tragic loss of Matthew, and my heart goes out to his parents. Years ago, my 22 year old brother was killed in an accident. Over a period of time, The Lord will gradually guide the Kocher family through a healing process and help them cope with this tragedy. The family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Kocher family, Words cannot express what my heart is feeling right now. It broke last Saturday and continues to crumble a little more each day. Even though I didn't have the honor of meeting Matt, my daughter shared what an amazing young man he was. I will continue to offer up prayers of peace, understanding, comfort and for the joys of 15 years of beautiful memories.
