Matthew "Matt" Sass, WWII army Vet; beloved husband of Evelyn, nee Troscinski, loving father of Carol (David M.D.) Johnson and Michael M.D. (Judy) ; cherished grandfather of Julie (Dan) Luitjohan, Eric (Chelli), Jenny, Karen Johnson, Katelyn and Aaron; great grandfather of Ryan, Isaac and Cailey; dear brother of the late Wally (Adeline) and Bruno (Florence); brother on law of Edwin (Alvy) Troscinksi; also nieces and nephews. Funeral Monday, 9:15 a.m. from Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Mass 10 a.m. Entombment Ressurection Mausoleum. Aunt Evelyn, Carol & Mike,
Uncle Matt will be in thoughts & my prayers everyday forever & ever. He was truly a great Uncle and Godfather and very thoughtful and understanding in whatever I am doing. I really enjoyed the phone conversations of what's new with me when I'm not sleeping. It was great surprise visit 2 years ago for Uncle's birthday.
Uncle Matt is with my Dad and Uncle Bruno watching overall of us. I can still feel their presence near me at times with a hand on my shoulder and whisper in my ear and a cigar scent in the air.

Dear Aunt Evelyn,
We were all so very sorry to hear about Uncle
Matt. We all feel so bad that we missed the
services, but we were not aware of them.
Uncle Matt was a wonderful man and he will
be greatly missed. All of your great memories and your strong faith will help you
through this difficult time.
Please know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless you and
comfort you.
