Maybelle Vranicar Obituary

Maybelle ("May") Lucille Vranicar, 90, died in Atlanta on Friday, May 3. Mrs. Vranicar was born in Maywood to John H. Sipchen and Marie Van Deusen Sipchen on September 28, 1922. She graduated from Proviso High School in 1938 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy Waves in 1944. In the Navy she met Edmund J. Vranicar, a chief petty officer from Joliet. She married him in November 1946. The couple settled in River Forest in 1953 and raised four children. They relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida, in 1983 and then to Atlanta in 1989. Edmund died that year. She is survived by four children: John E. (partner Colin Reeves) of Chicago; David J. (wife Margareta A. Brunnstrom V.) of Smyrna, Georgia; Mary K. (partner Darragh Smithers) of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Elizabeth V. Tanis (husband John A. Chandler) of Atlanta.

I am so sorry for your great loss. I just recently lost my father to Alzheimer's, as well. It is such a comfort to know that our Heavenly Father does not forget the fine works that our loved ones have done. ( Heb. 6:10). May you continue to look to Him for comfort during this most difficult time. (Rom. 15:5). Again, my deepest sympathies.

I did not know Maybelle, but I know Mary, and I am not surprised to learn what an outstanding person of character she must have been. Mary is a lovely reflection of her. Sending love, blessings and prayers of comfort to the family.

I did not know Ms. Vranicar but after reading her obituary, I felt the need to let the family know that I truly enjoyed reading all the good things she did with her life. May God (John 17:3) comfort the family. My sincere condolences.
